IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey "Bear"
Neal Berry
December 11, 1962 – July 12, 2025
JEFFREY NEAL " BEAR" BERRY, 62, of Lancaster, died on July 12, 2025, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Jeff was born in Lancaster, NH, on December 11, 1962, and has been a lifelong resident of the Groveton/Lancaster area. He was a graduate of the White Mountain Regional High School, class of 1980.
Jeff was a big supporter of the Groveton High School girls' basketball team and Riverside Speedway. Over the years, he taught many children how to ride horses and was involved in the 4-H program. He showed horses and won many trophies over the years. He was a member of the Lancaster Fire Department in his younger years.
Jeff worked for over 30 years for FB Spaulding, then went to work for the State of New Hampshire Highway Department for the past 6 years.
Jeff was never married, but had many "wives". He never had children, but had many, as everyone else's children were his. Jeff was a great man and would give anything to anyone in need. He was very witty, had a great personality, had an infectious laugh, and could always make you laugh, no matter what type of mood you were in. Jeff is loved by all who knew him.
Bear is survived by his "wife" of four years, Melissa McCabe of Lancaster, his two brothers, Harry Smith and his wife Carol Ann of Littleton, and Richard "Rick" Berry of Barrington, as well as several nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Percy and cat Tyson.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hartley Hatt and Barbara Adeline (Collins) Berry, and his grandparents Harold and Frances Stevens.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to either the Second Chance Animal Rescue; 1517 Meadow St., Littleton, NH 03561 or the White Mountain Riding Club, C/O Cathy Dorr, 1697 West Lunenburg Road, Lunenburg, VT 05906 or whitemountainridingclub.org
