IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry James
Riley
February 8, 1955 – August 19, 2024
Jerry James Riley, 69, of Brunswick, VT, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 19, 2024.
He was born on February 8, 1955 in West Stewartstown, NH, the second child of Marshall and Patricia (Patnaude) Riley. After Jerry graduated from Stratford High School in 1974, he began working in bridge construction which led to a lifelong career in the logging industry.
Jerry had an incredible work ethic. Once retired, he continued to keep busy, from mowing lawns and plowing snow, to undercoating vehicles and completing building projects. He was an extremely skilled craftsman and took great pride in his meticulous carpentry work.
Above all, Jerry's family was his pride and joy. He loved spending time with his mom, kids, grandkids, friends, and furry pups Gracie, Ollie, Poppy, and Addie. He could frequently be spotted shooting hoops, boating around the lake, or enjoying a good cookout, always with his coffee in hand. Jerry was a committed fan of the Celtics, NASCAR, and most importantly, of any sport or activity in which his kids or grandkids were involved.
Jerry was predeceased by his father Marshall. He leaves behind his mother, Patricia, his daughter Melissa and husband Robert Belanger of Littleton, NH, son Joshua Riley of Bloomfield, VT, his three RSB granddaughters Riley Simonne, Reeve Sailor, and Rory Storm Belanger, his sister Cathy Burns and husband Ted of North Stratford, sister Gwen Riley of Waterbury, VT, brother Jody Riley and wife Eleanor of Beecher Falls, VT, and former spouse Susie Riley of Derby Line, VT.
