John P. Connolly, 54 of Meredith & North Strafford N.H. died Thursday, April 17th, 2008 due to an automobile accident. Mr. Connolly was born July 2, 1953 in Berlin, N.H.; he graduated from Gorham High School, and attended Plymouth State College. He worked for the N.H. Humane Society for many years. He owned & operated two convenience stores in the Lakes Region. He later worked for the Town of Meredith Water Department for 10 years. He then owned his own caretaking business in the Meredith & Center Harbor area before moving to North Strafford with his wife, Martha where they established, owned & operated Connolly Cabins & Campground for the past 5 years. He enjoyed his garden, four wheeling, wildlife and playing the drums. He had a love for his family, friends, campers, and just enjoyed life to its fullest. Bumpa" also very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; Uma, Carson, Delaney, & Katie who will all miss him dearly. Survivors include a son David Connolly, and wife Nong and their daughter Uma, of Eliot, Maine, a daughter Allison Sleeper and husband Michael and their son Carson & daughter Delaney, of Meredith. He also had 3 step-children Jennifer Morrison and husband Josh of Groveton and their daughter Katie, Andy Dorais, and his wife Michelin of Dover, and Peter Dorais of Meredith. Survivors also include long time friend, and mother of his children Dale Connolly, and a brother Herb Connolly of Florida. Mr. Connolly was predeceased by his parents, Herbert & Louise (Meuse) Connolly, his brother Normand Connolly, and his wife Martha (Werdin) Connolly.
