JOHN FRANCIS DOYLE, 66, of Colby Commons, Colebrook, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 15, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

John was born on December 28, 1956, in Gainesville, Florida the son of the late Larry and Mildred (Morgan) Doyle. He moved to Colebrook about ten years ago, after retiring, coming from Dallas, Texas.

John worked for many years as the Men's Department Manager at Macy's Galleria in Dallas. He received his PhD in history in Oxford, England. Over the years he was the first-chair Oboist and French horn in various orchestras and was a brilliant musician.

John enjoyed the club life, where he would visit with others for hours on end. He spoke fluent french; enjoyed casino gambling; and fine jewelry.

John is survived by his brother-in-law James "Mac" MacDonald of Colebrook; two nieces and two nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Debra Doyle on October 31, 2020.

There will be no calling hours or service at this time. A celebration of life will be held a a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
