JOHN "JACK" FREDERICK DUNLAP III, 82, of Stratford, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at his residence, after a lengthy illness and complications from cardiac amyloidosis (ATTRwt), with his loving family by his side.

Jack was born on November 7, 1942, in Boxborough, Massachusetts, a son of the late John Dunlap, Jr, and Marjorie (Lussier) Dunlap. Jack grew up in Boxborough, MA, and was a graduate of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, class of 1960. He continued his education at North Eastern University and graduated in 1967 with his Bachelors degree in Finance and Insurance, with a Minor in Economics and Accounting. Jack worked in the insurance industry for fifty years before retiring in 2012.

After retirement, Jack and Joyce moved to Stratford. Jack enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, hiking, go foraging, and reading. In his younger years, he enjoyed boating, water skiing, skiing, and snowshoeing.

Jack is survived by his wife of 20 years Joyce (McMann) Dunlap of Stratford, children Julie LePoer and husband Shawn of Athol, MA, Amy Dunlap and husband Mark Morgan of Melrose, MA, Keri Scott of Manchester, NH, and Sean Scott and wife Stephanie of Morgan, VT, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three siblings Virginia Dandreta and husband Charles of Seabrook, NH and Naples, FL, Robert Dunlap of Sandwich, NH, and Patricia Lincoln of Moultonborough, NH, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Burial will be on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Center Cemetery in Stratford, with Fr. Timothy Brooks officiating. A celebration of Jack's life will follow immediately after the burial at Jack and Joyce's home in Stratford. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
