Julie Deanne
Mclain
June 4, 1964 – October 15, 2023
JULIE DEANNE (SMITH) McLAIN, 59, of Lancaster Road, Groveton, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 15, 2023, surrounded by family and friends after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Julie was born on June 4, 1964, in Lancaster, NH the daughter of the late Frank "Stubby" and Carilyn (Cross) Smith. She was a graduate of Groveton High School and then went on to receive her LNA.
Julie was very active and loved being outdoors. Her passions were hiking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Always an extremely hard worker, she did whatever was necessary to support her sons, who were the center of her universe. She worked as a rural mail carrier at the Groveton post office for many years, was a cosmetologist, and a dental hygienist, and worked as a healthcare provider for nearly 40 years – most recently at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin, NH.
Julie was a friend to all, had a giving heart, and was selfless, compassionate, and caring.
In her retirement, Julie was looking forward to hiking the 4,000-foot peaks of the Presidential range and traveling our beautiful country. To keep Julie's memory alive, please take her with you in your heart and thoughts if you're fortunate enough to pursue her dream.
Julie is survived by her two sons Michael McLain of Berlin; Matthew McLain and wife Mia of Stark; her companion of many years, Lionel "Curley" Cloutier of Groveton; one brother; nieces, nephews, cousins, the Cloutier family, her extended family, and friends.
