LEONARD JAMES "LENNY" FOURNIER, 93, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at the Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, NH with his family by his side.

Lenny was born on February 26, 1925, in Groveton, NH a son of Henry and Ada (Cheeseman) Fournier. He was a lifelong resident of Groveton, wintering in Florida for several years, until moving to live with his son Gregory about two years ago.

Lenny was a US Army Veteran and served his country during WWII in Western Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion Post #17 in Groveton; and the Groveton United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener and woodworker; he enjoyed dancing and fishing and was a huge RED SOX fan.

Lenny retired in 1986 from James River Corp after working as an electrician for 42 years.

He is survived by his companion of 20 years Vivian "Vicky" Woodward of Groveton;  four children Gregory Fournier and wife Jane of Hartford, VT; Wendy McMann and husband Brian of Stratford, NH; Lennie Fournier and wife Melinda of Palmdale, CA; and Mary Jane Clark and husband Dean of Guildhall, VT; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

He was predeceased by his parents; two wives Bertha on January 23, 1969, and Colleen on September 27, 1996, and his sister Muriel Normandeau.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral service with Military Honors will follow immediately after at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 11:00 am in the Northumberland Cemetery.
