LILLIAN PEARL (ANNIS) GILMAN, 71 of Croteau Road in Stark, died peacefully at her residence, Tuesday, January 22, 2008, after a lengthy illness. Born February 18, 1936 in Gilman, Vermont a daughter of the late Josiah and Mildred (Isham) Annis, she was a resident of Stark for 44 years. Lillian graduated high school and then went on the Lyndon State College to become a teacher. During her career she taught at Willoughby Lake School, in Willoughby, Vermont; Stratford Public School in Stratford, NH and Stark Village School in Stark, NH until she retired in 1981. She was a member of the American Teachers Association. Lillian loved being around children; loved Jesus with all her heart. She loved the outdoors and country living; shopping for food and new recipes. Lillian and her husband Richard J. Gilman I would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary the end of the month. She is survived by in addition to her husband Richard their children Richard J. Gilman II of Stark; Monica Cronauer and her husband Alan of Lunenburg, VT; Stephan Gilman and his wife Julie of Stark; and Donald Gilman and his wife Rosemary of Augusta, Georgia; five grandsons and three granddaughters. Her two sisters Evelyn Van Hoose of Moberly, Missouri; Cherie Parks of Casa Grande, Arizona and one brother Russell Annis of Groveton also survive her along with several nieces and nephews. Lillian is predeceased by her parents and one brother Carroll Annis. At Lillian's request there will be no calling hours or services at this time. A graveside service will be in the spring at the Emerson Road Cemetery in Stark. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
