LINWOOD ALVIN POTTER, JR. 78, died peacefully at his resident in North Stratford on July 17, 2014 after a lengthy illness, with his family by his side. He was born in West Stewartstown, NH on February 15, 1936 a son of Linwood A. Potter, Sr. and Lavona (Marsh) Potter and has been a resident of Stratford most of his life. Jr. was a woodsman; over the years he worked for the Campbell Envelope Co.; Washburn Lumber; Tillotson Rubber and also drove a bus for the employees to and from work. He helped his wife take care of her parents for over twenty years until their deaths and loved it. He was a member of the North Country ATV Club; loved riding his four-wheeler; fishing; the outdoors and working in the woods. Jr. is survived by his wife of 40 years Lorraine (Arsenault) Potter of North Stratford; his step-mother Doris Potter of Whitefield; his children Gary ONeil and wife Winnie of Colebrook; Debra Reynolds and husband Rodney of Stratford; Gerry Potter of Lewiston, ME; Rose Potter of Massachusetts; Glenn ONeil of Stratford; Kenneth ONeil and wife Tammy of West Chesterville, NH; Diane Schooner of Stratford; Allen Potter and wife Becky of New Hampshire; David Potter and wife Sandy of Stratford; Linwood "Frog" Potter III and wife Shelley of Groveton; and Wendy Beaton and husband Mike of Groveton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings Lenard Potter and wife Debbie of Bristol, NH; Leona McKearney and husband Arthur of Stratford; Debbie Doolan and husband Michael of Whitefield; one aunt Nina Raymond of Colebrook; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; in-laws Emilia and Oliver Arsenault; two brothers Rainey Allin and Leroy Potter (July 10, 2014); two grandsons Michael Schooner, Jr. and Troy "Big Daddy" Schooner; one son-in-law Michael Schooner, Sr. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 5-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Sacred Heart Church in North Stratford with Fr. Matthew Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Cemetery in North Stratford.
