LLOYD WARREN “PAPA” TIPPITT, 69, of Maidstone, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side.

Lloyd was born on July 10, 1957, in Lancaster, NH, to the late Warren Lloyd and Margaret Lucy (Welch) Tippitt. Lloyd was a lifelong resident of Groveton and Maidstone.

Lloyd was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and served his country from 1977 to 1981. He was a member of the VFW in Lancaster.

Lloyd, in his younger years, worked at the S & W Market in Groveton, as a volunteer on the Groveton Ambulance Corp., and as a police officer for the Town of Northumberland for a total of 33 years, where he worked his way through the ranks and retired as Chief of Police in 2008, but then still worked for the police department part time until 2018. Lloyd worked for the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home for the past 22 years as a funeral assistant, or as Lloyd would say, “just the driver”. He also worked for Tommy Covell for approximately 15 years, assisting with digging graves, replacing water and sewer lines or anything else Tommy needed a hand with.

Lloyd was always willing to help anyone who needed help. He was an awesome cook and loved to share his goodies, including his pies at the annual Maidstone Lake Thanksgiving get-together, his pea soup, and filled cookies.

Lloyd is survived by his two sisters, Mary Ellen Colfer and her husband Vincent Mark of Geronimo, OK; and Anna Marie Harrison and her husband Daniel of Lancaster; and his family. He always said, “Family is not always blood.” He loved them all.

Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 25 years Timonee (Barrows) Tippitt, on September 6, 2013, and one son Scott Beaudet, on July 25, 1990.

Inurnment of both Lloyd and Timonee will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home.
