LOLITA J. (FULLER) FORBES, 68, died peacefully at her home on Maidstone Lake with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, August 20, 2010. Lolita was born in Stratford, NH on September 14, 1941 the daughter of Darwin and Edna Fuller. She graduated from Stratford High Scholl in 1959, and then went on to graduate from Plymouth State College. After graduation she taught in area schools, then settled to teach high school math for 23 years at WMRHS, where she ran a very successful math team. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, gardening and being out enjoying nature itself. She was very active with the Vermont biologists in helping to take care of and protect the loons. She loved family history and genealogy and traced her family history back to England. Lolita was a member of the planning board in Maidstone, VT. She was an active member of the Stratford Alumni and also a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Stratford. Her house was always open to her many family members and friends and she had a love for all children especially her three grandsons. Lolita is survived by her husband of 40 years David Forbes of Maidstone, VT; her mother Edna Fuller of Stratford, NH; her daughter Karena Sturges and husband David of Bradford, NH her son Ross Forbes and wife Kathy of Derry; three sisters Louanne Solino and husband John of Pembroke, Mass; Darline Balch and husband Edward of Stratford, NH; Annie Didsbury and husband Peter of Columbia, NH; three grandsons David, Jonathan and Miles; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband Gaylord Sargent and her father Darwin Fuller. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 22 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 23 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in North Stratford with Rev. Cindy Grassi, pastor officiating.
