MADELINE "MAXINE" MARTHA HOPPS, 73, of Stark died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a brief illness. Born in Stewartstown, NH on March 9, 1936 a daughter Freeman and Althea (Hibbard) Bunnell, she was raised in Canaan and graduated from Canaan High School in 1955. After high school she went to college and became a professional secretary and worked for Combine Insurance for about three years, and then she went to work for Coos County Nursing Hospital in Stewartstown for a few years. Madeline later worked in the number one finishing room at Groveton Paper Co. Madeline is survived by her husband of 44 years Harry Hopps of Stark; four children Gail Tasker and husband Roscoe "Rocky" of Strafford; Brendon Bunnell of Orlando, FL; Susan Hopps of Stark and Bradley Hopps and wife Concetta of Stark; seven grandchildren and one great- grandchild; two sisters Bernadine Keezer of Colebrook and Rowena Bergeron of Michigan along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers Claude Bunnell and E. Dennis Bunnell. Calling hour will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 from 3-4 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Service will be at 4pm at the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Cox of the Groveton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial of Cremains will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2pm in the Emerson Road Cemetery in Stark.
