MARCEL GUY MARIER, of Stratford Road, North Stratford died Sunday, September 1, 2019, just four days after his 75th birthday, at his home after a sudden illness.
Marcel was born on August 27, 1944, in Joliette, Canada a son of Roger Emile and Beatrice Louise (Bissonnette) Marier and has been a resident of North Stratford since 1950. He was a graduate of Stratford High School, class of 1963.
He was a US Veteran serving his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He loved his country. Before retiring he worked for Wausau Papers in Groveton. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing including deep sea fishing during his time spent in Georgia each year. He and his wife Ruth also enjoyed going to flea markets together.
Marcel is survived by his wife of 15 years Virginia Ruth (Cameron) Marier of Jessup GA; his daughter Deanna Gaither of Alabama; 6 step-children Larry Bell of Ludowici, GA; Mary Harnois; Carla Carter; Kimberly Ryals and Adam Bell all of Jessup. GA and Carl Wolse of Dublin, GA; one brother Frank Marier and two sisters Cecile Canton and Aline Shallow all of North Stratford, NH; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; one son Guy Alfred Marier; one sister Pauline Hurlbert; one brother Real Marier; and one grandson Danny Ward.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 5-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 9, 2019, at the funeral home with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor of the St. Marguerite d'Youville Parish officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in North Stratford.
