MARIE AGNES (LEVESQUE) BELAND LACASSE, 87, of State Street, died peacefully Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Berlin after a lengthy illness. Born September 22, 1918 in St. Antoine Padoue, Canada a daughter of George and Adelaide (Oullet) Levesque, she came to the United States in 1954. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church, Groveton. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, carpentry work (tearing down and rebuilding), being a caretaker for friends and family and spending time with her family both in the U.S. and Canada. Marie is survived by her three sons and their wives; Gerard "Frenchy" and Geneva Beland; Alphonse and Theresa Beland all of Groveton and Rodrique and Tammey Beland of Faston, VT; one daughter Gaitane Parlier of Montreal, Quebec. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive her. Marie was predeceased by her first husband Jean Beland January 23, 1970 and her second husband Leonard Lacasse May 1, 2004. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 25, 2005 from 6-9 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State Street; Groveton. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 9:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Church; 28 State Street; Groveton, with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 pm in the St. Jeanne D'Arc Cemetery in Salaberry-De-Valleyfield, PQ.
