MARILYN LOUISE (GIBBS) HERBERT, 90, formerly of Cloutier Drive in Stark, died peacefully on May 6, 2024, just four days before her 91st birthday, at The Summit at the Morrison, with her loving son by her side.

Marilyn was born on May 10, 1933, in Burlington, VT the daughter of the late Raemon and Freda (Tatro) Gibbs. Marilyn moved to Stark in 2001, where she and Jim built the home of their dreams, coming from Franklin, NH.

Marilyn was a member of the Eastern Star.

Over the years, Marilyn worked as a secretary for the National Life Insurance Co. and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Marilyn loved going snow machining; working in her flower garden; knitting; and reading.

Marilyn is survived by two children Marcia Gardner of Richmond, Vermont, and James D. Herbert of Claymont, Delaware; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband James M. Herbert on May 21, 2019, and her daughter Diane Herbert on November 3, 2023.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Eungil Cho of the Groveton and Stark United Methodist Churches officiating. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Emerson Rd. Cemetery in Stark.

At Marilyn's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Groveton Food Bank, C/O St. Marguerite d'Youville Parish, PO Box 247, Groveton, NH 03582.
