MARION LOUISE (STEARNS) FRIZZELL,
formerly of Groveton, died peacefully at Carriage Hill Assisted Living in Madbury, where she had been a resident since 2016 after a brief illness at the age of 94.
Marion was born on May 18, 1925, in Rochester, NH a daughter of the late Guy and Grace (Edmunds) Stearns. She was a graduate of the Spaulding High School, class of 1943. She was active in the 4-H in poultry and dairy showing and was Jr. Champion in the Dairy judging in 1937. Marion worked for the Sears order office from 1944-1947. She farmed in Stewartstown for eight years and then moved to Groveton in 1957 where she and her husband Bernard ran the Frizzhome Farm for many years. She was secretary/treasurer for the Coos Holstein-Friesian Club from 1958-1968 and was a board member of the Coos County Extension Service/ 4-H dairy advisory committee for a few years. She was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church and the Groveton Trailblazers Snowmachine Club.
Marion's hobbies included spending time with her family; walking; reading; gardening; and after retirement traveling with Bernard throughout the U.S. She was known for her chocolate cakes and homemade doughnuts.
Marion is survived by her three sons Leon A. Frizzell and wife Kathleen of Champaign, IL; Howard S. Frizell of Bedford, NH; and Larry B. Frizzell and Debra Dockum of Dover, NH; one daughter Nancy F. Newton and husband Mark of Rochester, NH; six grandsons; one granddaughter; seven great-grandchildren; one sister Helen S. Stone of Exeter, NH and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Bernard Frizzell on December 5, 2000; one son Ronald Frizzell in 1990; three sisters Dorothy Russell in 1995; Annie Frizzell in 2008; and Susan Smith in 2018; one daughter-in-law Marguerite Frizzell in 2005.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, from 5-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton, NH. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 11:00 am at the Groveton United Methodist Church with inurnment following in the Northumberland Cemetery.
