MARY ANN (JONES) HEYWOOD, 90, of Ice Pond Village in Lancaster, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Week's Medical Center, Lancaster after a sudden illness with her family by her side.

Mary Ann was born on September 8, 1926 in Highland Park, Michigan a daughter of Francis and Anna Fannie (Cochran) Jones.  She grew up in Michigan and then lived many years in Lyndonville, VT before moving to Lancaster in April of 2016.

Mary Ann was very independent living alone and still driving herself where ever she wanted to go up until last week when she took ill.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, vegetable and flower gardening. She made many outfits to dress teddy bears for the local fire departments. She made many pairs of pajamas and hats and mittens and donated them to thrift shops. Most recently she started adult coloring.

Her family and church family were very important to her and she was very active in church activities.

Mary Ann is survived by four children Gary and Sharron Heywood of Jericho, VT; Karen and Dean Peel of Groveton, NH; Dwight and Trudy Heywood of Idaho; and Colleen and Jay Atwood of Orford, NH; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Bartlett S. Heywood and two sons John Heywood and Stephen Heywood.

Calling hour will be on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 2-3 pm at the Assembly of God Church in Lancaster. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Seth Frink officiating.  Burial will be on May 26, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Riverside Cemetery in Waterford, VT.
