MARY VIRGINIA (GREENBERGER) JOHNSON, 94, of Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Canter in Lancaster, died peacefully Wednesday, August 13, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Born March 15, 1914 in Easttown, Penn. A daughter of John W. and Martha Jane E. (Latch) Greenberger, she has been a resident of Lancaster since June 6, 2008 coming from Brewster, N.Y. Before retiring from Northern Westchester Hospital in 1979 Mary worked as a Registered Nurse for 39 years and delivered over 2000 babies. She is a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church and various church groups and she enjoyed playing cards. Mary is survived by her three daughters and their husbands Martha and Alphonse Fernez of The Villages, FL; Mary Jane and John Nordelli of Errol, NH and Sue and Jim Casteldo of Wakefield, R.I.; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband Robert Johnson on December 13, 1999. At Mary's request there will be no calling hours or services.
