Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home, LLC 100 State Street Groveton, NH 03582 603-636-2744 GROVETON MELVINA "VINIE" (PORTIGUE) WEAGLE, 78, of Maple Street, Groveton, died peacefully at Week's Memorial Hospital in Lancaster after a lengthy illness. Born April 5, 1927 in Stratford Hollow, NH a daughter of Levi and Florida (Barron) Portigue, she was a lifelong resident of the area. Vinie cleaned houses for others for many years until 2002 when she retired. She enjoyed putting together puzzles; knitting and going for rides. She was a heavy soap addict. She is survived by her two daughters Rose and husband Ronal Gilcris of Groveton and Barbara "Jeannie" Weagle of Groveton; son Henry and wife Donna Dupuis of South Hadley, Mass.six grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; and one sister Mary Ramsdell of Guildhall, VT. She was predeceased by her husband James Weagle on December 31, 1990; grandson Bobby Kay June 1999 and her daughter Ruth Houle in 2004. Calling hours will be on Monday May 30, 2005 from 1-8 PM at Vinie's home at 3 Maple Street; Groveton. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the house with Pastor Peter Parent, of the Groveton United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery. Shuttle service will be available from the parking lot at the Moose Lodge in Groveton to the house for calling hours.
