MILDRED EVELYN HOPPS, a resident of Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield since January of 2007, died peacefully just three days after her 84th birthday at Week's Medical Center in Lancaster on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 after a brief illness. Born in Stark, NH on November 18, 1923 a daughter of the late Robert F. and Maude Ada (Gochie) Gibson, she lived in the Groveton/Stark area until she became a resident at Morrison's. Mildred was a member of the Stark/Groveton United Methodist Church. Before retiring she worked as a Private Duty Nurse and housekeeper. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and craft projects. She was loved gardening and had a green thumb and could make anything grow. She also enjoyed picking berries, fishing and going to camp. Mildred was a darn good cook and liked helping other people. She loved little children. She is survived by her daughter Evelyn A. Gaudette of Merrimack, NH; two sons Richard E. Frizzell of Groveton and Everett R. Frizzell of Stark; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her three sisters Leatha Giggey of Groveton/Stark; Opal Potter of Guildhall, VT and Theresa Peel of Groveton; along with one brother Chandis Gibson of Dunbarton, NH and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. She was predeceased by, in addition to her parents, two brothers Henry Gibson and Kenneth Gibson. Graveside Service will be held on May 24, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the Emerson Raod Cemetery in Stark. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
