MILLIE I. (PHELPS) KENNETT, 86, of Main Street Groveton, died Monday November 8, 2010 at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster after a lengthy illness. Born on October 1, 1924 in Jefferson, NH a daughter of Cedric and Hazel (Ingerson) Phelps, she has been a resident of Groveton since 1955. Before retiring she worked for the Campbell Envelope Co. She was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church. She was a Charter member of the Loyal Order of the Moose; and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 17 and the VFW Auxiliary in Lancaster. She used to enjoy knitting and crocheting and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Millie is survived by her children Chilion Kennett of Delray, Florida; Joan Charbonneau and husband Charlie and Judy McMann and husband David all of Groveton; daughter-in-law Bonnie Kennett of St. Paul, MN; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings Fred Phelps of Groveton; Beverly Deline of Connecticut and Shirley Tate of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces and nephews. Millie was predeceased by her parents; her husband Herbert Kennett in 1984; grandson Jonathan Kennett in 1990; son Frederick Kennett and a sister Celeste Smith. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 10 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 11th at 1:00 pm at the Groveton United Methodist Church with Pastor Aaron Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
