MYRA LUVA (ADAIR) McCORMICK, 88, of North Stratford, died peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at The Morison Nursing Home in Whitefield, after a lengthy illness. She was a resident of North Stratford for over 40 years, coming from Columbia.
Myra was born on November 4, 1937, in Columbia, NH. She was one of nine children of the late Elery W. and Juanita A. (Corliss) Adair.
Myra was a graduate of Colebrook High School, class of 1955. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and reading.
Myra worked as a seamstress for Gamm for many years and was a homemaker.
Myra is survived by her two children, Mary Woodward and husband Michael of Northumberland, and Robert McCormick of Groveton, five grandchildren, Arianna, Colton, Austin, Carissa, and Skyler, four great-grandchildren, Carolyn, Alaric, Elijah, and Jak, one brother, Kenneth Adair, and wife Chalene of Groveton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her six sisters, Eva Cloutier, Alice Fletcher, Irene Adair, Marion Stanton, Dorothy Jameson, and Lois Adair, one brother, William Adair.
The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to all of Myra's caregivers at AV Home Care, Sartwell Place, and Morrison Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Myra's name to either the Oncology Department at Weeks Medical Center, c/o Lisa Tetreault, 173 Middle St., Lancaster, NH 03584; AV Home Care Services, 795 Main St., Berlin, NH 03570; or Morrison Skilled Nursing Facility, 6 Terrace St., Whitefield, NH 03598.
At Myra's request, there will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm, in the Northumberland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
