NATALIE "NAN" J. (SWEATT) POTTER, 66 of Northumberland, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown, were she had been a resident since April 2000. Born August 1, 1942 in West Stewartstown a daughter of Wendell, Sr. and Elaine (McKeage) Sweatt, she grew up in Wilson Mills, ME, moved to Rangeley to finish high school, then to North Carolina when she first was married and then lived in Groveton most of her adult life. She was a graduate of Rangeley High School class of 1960. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Lancaster, and the TOPS Club. When Nan was younger she and her sisters used to race stock cars and enjoyed ceramics. Nan worked for Robert's Shoe Shop for several years, drove school bus and when she took ill, she was employed by Wausau Papers as a lab technician. Nan is survived by her husband of 45 years, Leroy Potter of Groveton; son Randy Potter and wife Andrea of Groveton; daughter Betty Tyler and husband Arland of Groveton; four grandchildren; siblings Muriel Potter and husband Donald Drake of Wilson Mills, ME; Sandra Grenier and husband Dennis of Groveton; Wendell Sweatt, Jr. and wife Elaine of Fair Fax, VT; Hazen Sweatt of Stratford, NH; Harvey Sweatt and wife Marlis of Germany; John Sweatt and wife Georgia of Rumford, ME/Milan, NH; Daniel Sweatt and wife Ramona of Rumford, ME; Wesley Sweatt and wife Wendy of Milan, NH; Elaine Perreault and husband Leo of Milan, NH; and Pamela Hutchins and husband Mark of Rumford, ME; step-mother Bonita "Bonnie" Sweatt of Rumford, ME; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Elaine Sweatt in July 1949 and her father Wendell Sweatt, Sr. in January 2000. Memorial calling hour will be held on Monday, September 15, 2008 from 4-5 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton with a memorial service following at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Lincoln Plantation Cemetery in Wilson Mills, ME.
