NEIL AUDREY CYRIL PERRO, 87, of Westside Lake Road, Maidstone, VT died peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2020, with his loving family by his side.
Neil was born on August 3rd, 1932 in Granville, VT; son of Gilbert A. and Gladys M. (Meyette) Perro. He graduated from Colebrook Academy in Colebrook, NH, where he was active in sports. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.
During his lifetime, Neil worked as a manufacturing engineer for Clarostat Manufacturing in Dover, NH; American Cyanamid Co. in Sanford, ME; Converse Rubber in Andover, MA & North Berwick, ME; and G.H. Bass in Wilton, ME.
While his children were young in Berwick, ME; Neil was involved in coaching baseball, umpiring, and participating as Scout Master for the Cub Scouts. He enjoyed boating, woodworking, playing golf, contract bridge, and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed acting and singing with the "Porpoise Players" in Kennebunk, ME, and "RAAPA" in Rumford, ME.
As the family grew, Neil and his wife Patricia decided they had outgrown the family camp on Maidstone Lake, and with the help of their children, built their own camp on the Lake which would become their permanent home at retirement. They wintered in Florida aboard their boat spending 10 years in Tarpon Springs and 10 years on Caladesi Island State Park, where Neil worked with the Park Rangers acting as Marina Host, as well as Construction, and Maintenance.
Neil is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia Ann (Hunt) Perro, originally of North Stratford, NH, and their six children; Skip Perro and wife Sandy of Bayonet Point, FL; Lisa Elmendorf and husband Pieter of Cincinnati, OH; Peter Perro of Saco, ME; Kevin Perro and wife Natalie of Hiram, ME; Michael Perro and wife Stephanie of Moultonborough, NH; and Erin Perro Gasper of Lancaster, NH; seventeen grandchildren, and thirty-four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; his sister Lucille Renner and a great-granddaughter Sapphyre Skye Perro.
There will be a Mass of Christian burial held on August 1, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Sacred Heart Church in North Stratford, NH, where Neil and Pat were wed 68 years ago.
