Obituary

Nichole Marie Howland, 43, of Bloomfield, VT, died unexpectedly in her home on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Nikki was born on March 30, 1980, in Stowe, Massachusetts a daughter of Andrew Howland, Jr. and Andrea "Ann" Rose (Moore) Howland.

Nikki was a loving mother, daughter, doting sister, and a loyal friend. She was the person who would drop everything to be there for you, no matter the time or place. She was the one who could make you laugh until your sides hurt, and the one who would hold you as you cried.

As we remember Nikki throughout the years, we share stories of her childhood and how she brought so much love and joy to our lives and to those who were around her. Nikki will always be remembered for her gentleness, grace, and kindness toward others. She always seemed to look out for others and would put others before herself growing up.

During her school-aged years, Nikki and her closest friends would sit in the kitchen with her mother Ann, and her friends listening to stories about all the local chaos happening in Stratford. Ann's home was the "place to be". It's where the gang all gathered and would play poker on the weekends, tinker on vehicles in the driveway, the meeting place in preparation for all the wild adventures, the safe place for all the locals to come and hang. Nikki was known as the carefree, tall skinny "Olive Oil", let's just do it and see what happens kind of girl.

Nikki will always be remembered by her dearest friends for all their unforgettable adventures over the years. From trips to Canada to traveling on a whim to Arizona without much thought, to last-minute camping trips without a plan, to back road cruising, to unforgettable "Church Concerts" and so many more memories that we will all hold and cherish forever.

One of Nikki's most remarkable qualities was her ability to love unconditionally. She had an open heart and an open mind, welcoming people from all walks of life into her inner circle. She didn't judge; she understood that everyone has their own battles to fight, their own burdens to bear.

Despite her God-given gift of bringing love to people, deep inside she was suffering in the darkness, privately battling the loss of her mother, Ann. With the recent passing of the love of her life, Adam Bedard, she succumbed to the pain she lived with not having these important people on this earth with her. We know that she is without pain and is now at rest in God's arms along with those she loved and missed dearly.

In the days, months, and years ahead, let us honor Nikki's memory by being a little kinder, by listening a little more, and by judging a little less. Let us be the change we wish to see in the world, for that is what Nikki would have wanted.

As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember Nikki for who she was—a beautiful soul who loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived passionately. May she find the peace she sought in life and we pray she and Adam have reunited and continue to embrace one another for eternity.

Nikki is survived by her three children; Jessa-Marie Bedard, Jared Elliott, and Jaxson Bedard. She is also survived by her brothers along with many other family and friends.

There will be no services at this time, a private celebration of life for Nikki and Adam will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
