NORMA ISABELLE (WHEELOCK) BEATTIE, 81, of the Huntington Community in Nashua, NH died January 29, 2010. Born March 5, 1928 in Groveton, NH a daughter of Carroll and Veora (Hunter) Wheelock, she resided in Groveton until 1979 when she moved to Maidstone, VT. Norma was a graduate of Groveton High School, class of 1945. She was a founding member of "The Knitting Club" in Groveton; Weeks Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at the Sunshine Lane Hospital Shop. She was an affiliate of The Groveton United Methodist Church. She married her first husband Raynold "Slugger" McMann March 5, 1946 and was predeceased by him in 1966. She married Roland Vaillancourt February 10, 1968 and was predeceased by him in 1975. Norma married Leonard "Bud" Beattie March 16, 1979 and resided in Maidstone until 2006 when she moved to a retirement home in Nashua, NH. "Bud" predeceased her in 1995. Norma is survived by one son Dennis McMann of Hollis, NH; an adopted son Roger Vaillancourt of Lyndon, VT; three step sons Clement Vaillencourt of Pembroke, NH; Mark Vaillancourt of Berlin, NH and Michael Vaillancourt of Boulder, CO; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; along with her brother Lloyd Wheelock of Lancaster, NH; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, three husbands, daughter Cheryl A. McMann Oakes in 1999 and a sister Melba Wheelock in 1999. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 5-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Cox of the Groveton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Northumberland Cemetery.
