NORMA TESSA GADWAH, of State Street Groveton died peacefully at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster, just three days before her 86th birthday. Born August 14, 1924 in Groveton, NH a daughter of Francis Hopps Sr. and Blanche (Woods) Hopps, she grew up in Groveton, moved to Connecticut and returned to Groveton 35 years ago. She was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post # 17 of Groveton. Norma is survived by her three sons Roland Gibson of North Haven, Conn.; Robert Gibson of New York; and James Gibson of Stark, NH; her daughter Diana Gibson of Stark; two step-sons Kevin Gadwah and Daryl Gadwah both of New Hampshire; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; six sisters Hazel Bedell of Groveton; Helen Hopps of Stark; Florence Dupuis of Groveton; Jean Dingman of Jefferson; Lydia Roy of North Stratford and Janette Rocha of New York; and two brothers Harry Hopps of Stark and Roland Hopps of Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Henry Gibson; her second husband Durwood Gadwah; two sons David Gibson and Dennis Gibson; two grandsons Dennis Gibson, Jr. and Roger Dejesus; three brothers Bernard Hopps; Francis Hopps, Jr. and Alvin Hopps and one sister Gloria Alexander. At Norma's request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Northumberland Cemetery with Rev. John Hopps officiating.
