NORMAN "BUD" EUGENE POTTER, 67, of Croteau Road died peacefully at his home on Friday February 10, 2012 after a lengthy illness with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lancaster, NH on May 21, 1944 a son of Norman Arthur and Opal Mae (Gibson) Potter. Norman was a graduate of Groveton High School, class of 1962. He loved fishing; going to his camp in Vermont and hunting in the forests and mountains around the Groveton and Stark area with his good hunting buddy Cecil Tisdale. He was a member of the Gilky Lodge of Groveton and a 32nd degree mason. He was a past member of the NH Fish and Game Club. Before retiring he worked for 44 years at Groveton Paper Board. Norman is survived by his wife of 23 years Joy (Stearns) Potter of Stark; his mother Opal Potter of Guildhall, VT; daughter Fawn Marie (Potter) Cantin and husband Albert of Mechanicsburg, PA; two step-daughters Sandy Dean and husband Jeremy of Jefferson, NH; and Sara Cookson and her significant other Richard Cotter of Groveton, NH; one step-son Wesley Cookson and wife Christy of Stark, NH; six grandchildren Emma Dean and Jonathan Dean; Brandon White; Zachary Cookson, Jacob Cookson and Mackenna Cookson. One nephew, Albert "A.J." Potter and wife Angie and their daughter Alexa all of Lunenburg, VT; one aunt; one uncle and several cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his father Norman Arthur Potter and one brother Carl "Toby" Potter. Calling hours will be held on Sunday February 12, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:15 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday February 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Cox of the Groveton United Methodist Church officiating.
