OLIVER LEVI ARSENAULT, 101 from Hog Back Road in North Stratford died on Friday, October 15, 2010 at his residence. Born February 1, 1909 in St. Crystome, Prince Edward Island a son of Avis and Marriane (Gallant) Arsenault, he has been a resident of North Stratford since 1958, coming from Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mr. Arsenault moved to Lawrence, Mass at the age of 5, then to Bridgeport, CT at the age of 18. He worked for General Electric in Bridgeport and was the head of the Union. He also was the Head of Education for Harding High School. After moving north he was employed at Brown Co. in Stratford and was the head of the Union there. He worked with the Youth Corp in Stratford; and was a care giver at the Center Stratford Cemetery for several years. Oliver was a member and Eucharistic Minister at the Sacred Heart Church in North Stratford. Mr. Arsenault held the Boston Post Cane for the Town of Noth Stratford. Mr. Arsenault is survived by his daughter Lorraine Potter and husband Linwood, Jr. of North Stratford; nine grandchildren; six step grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; two brothers Russell Arsenault and Cyrus Arsenault both of Stratford, CT; three sisters Edna Burby of Fairfield, CT; Rita Perkins and Dorothy Longo both of Stratford, CT; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife Emilia; two sons Roger and Raymond; one Great-grandson Troy "Big Daddy" Schooner and six brothers. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 3-7 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Sacred Heart Church in North Stratford with burial following in the Center Stratford Cemetery.
