GROVETON/NORTH STRATFORD OLIVER "OLLIE" PAUL BERNARD, 55, of Dean Brook Drive, died Saturday, September 17, 2005 in Norwich, CT after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born December 13, 1949 in North Stratford, NH a son of the late Joseph C. and Flora Louise (Verge) Bernard he was a life long resident of the North Stratford/Groveton area. He was a graduate of Stratford High School, class of 1969. Before he was unable to work due to his illness he worked for Groveton Paper Board Company. Ollie was a past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Groveton. He loved fishing, playing poker with family and friends, slot machines, scratch tickets and horseshoes. He also enjoyed watching Western Movies. He is survived by his five daughters Karen and husband Mike Ravagno of Manchester; Melissa and husband Ryan Collins of Groveton, Tricia Bernard of Groveton, Amanda Bernard and Olivia Bernard of Vermont. one granddaughter Kaylah Ravagno of Manchester, nine siblings Priscilla Bernard, Rosalie Hartlan, Beatrice Haynes all of North Stratford; Joe Bernard of Perth Andover, Quebec; Alfred Bernard of North Carolina; Armand Bernard of North Stratford; Vivian Schneider of St. Petersburg, FL; Jack Bernard and Leon Bernard both of Groveton. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by one brother Peter Bernard in December 2000. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State Street; Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 21st at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Church; 11 State Street; Groveton with the Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery; Old Mill Road; North Stratford, NH.
