Obituary

OPAL MAE (GIBSON) POTTER, 86, of North Road, Guildhall, Vermont died peacefully at her residence on Monday, December 17, 2012. Opal was born on March 1, 1926 in Groveton, NH a daughter of Robert F. and Maude Ada (Gochey) Gibson, she attended Groveton schools, moved to Stratford, NH for several years then to Guildhall, VT in 1988. She was a member of the Stark Union Church, and enjoyed gardening, flowers and food. Over the years she worked at The Shoe Shop; as a cook and at the Groveton Mills. Opal is survived by one sister Theresa Peel of Groveton; one brother Chandis Gibson of Manchester, NH; one grandson Albert Potter and wife Angela of Lunenburg, VT; one granddaughter Fawn Marie Potter of Camp Hill, PA; one great-granddaughter Alexa Potter of Lunenburg, VT several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Norman Potter and her second husband Ellis Potter; two sons Norman Potter and Carl Potter; two sisters Leatha Giggy and Mildred Hopps; and two brothers Henry Gibson and Kenneth Gibson. At Opal's request there will be no calling hours. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton with Pastor Aaron Cox of the Groveton United and Stark Union Churches officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Emerson Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
