PATRICIA (HUNT) PERRO was born April 19, 1931, in Lancaster, NH, and lived in North Stratford, NH until her graduation from North Stratford High School in 1949. She attended Keene State College for 3 years and finished her degree at Wilson Teachers College in Washington, DC. She married Neil A. Perro in 1952 and lived with him in DC while he finished his Naval service. They moved to Somersworth, NH in 1953, and to Berwick, ME in 1956.

In 1966 she went to work for the Somersworth Free Press and was Editor from 1970 until 1975 before working at the York County Coast Star. She moved to Kennebunk, ME in 1978, and two years later she moved to Wilton, ME where she accepted the position of General Manager and Executive Editor of the Rumford Falls Times. She remained in that position until her retirement in 1995.

She and Neil then alternated between summers at their camp on Maidstone Lake, Vermont, and winters in Tarpon Springs and Caladesi Island in Florida where they wintered on their boat. At Caladesi Island State Park they worked assisting the rangers. The Rangers on the island truly felt like family to them.

She died on July 21, 2023. She is survived by her sister, Linda Hunt Renaud of North Stratford, her six children - Skip Perro (wife Sandy) of Bayonet Point, FL; Lisa Elmendorf (husband Piet) of Cincinnati, OH; Peter Perro of Saco, ME; Kevin Perro (wife Natalie) of Hiram, Maine, Michael Perro and (wife Stefanie) of Moultonborough, NH; and daughter Erin Perro Gasper of Lancaster, NH. Patricia also leaves 17 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter.

She is predeceased by her husband Neil Perro, parents Roger & Pauline Hunt of North Stratford, NH; a sister, Naidina Rose Dorr of Colebrook, NH; and a great-granddaughter, Sapphyre Skye Perro of Lebanon, ME.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug 12th at 11 am, at the Sacred Heart Church, North Stratford with Fr. Daniel Deveau officiating. Graveside Service will follow in the Stratford Center Cemetery; with a Reception immediately following at the North Stratford Pavilion. Arrangements are under the direction of Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton, NH.
