PAULINE G. (CHALIFAUX) RICE, 78 , of Main Street in Groveton died peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at her home.

Pauline was born on February 4, 1939 in Barton, VT a daughter of Edward and Christie (Young) Chalifaux and was raised in Bloomfield, VT by her aunt and uncle after her parents' death.

Pauline was a graduate of Stratford Public School. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and held the office of Deputy Grand Marshall. She was a member of the Groveton American Legion Auxiliary and of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

Over the years before retiring she worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide; on the Groveton Ambulance Corp.; and as a cashier at Ames Department Store.

Pauline is survived by her three children; Harry Lee Rice, Jr. and Deborah Weeks of Groveton; Harold Rice and wife Janet of Nashua, NH; and Carla Gadwah and husband Arthur of Groveton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and one sister Irene Morrill.

At Pauline's request there will be no calling hours or service at this time. A private family only celebration of Pauline's life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
