RAE ELLEN (HAMPSON) DAVENPORT, 74, of Bog Road, Stratford, died unexpectedly in Littleton, on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Rae was born on January 10, 1950, in Littleton, NH, the daughter of Alfred and Lillian Rae (Lang) Hampson. She graduated from Littleton High School in 1968 and then attended and graduated from the Butera School of Art in Boston.

Rae resided in Stratford for the past 40 years. Her lifelong love of art and her creative spirit guided her work, and her talents were diverse. She was a screen printer and painted race cars. She helped many businesses with logo creation, and her work is featured on signs all around the area. She crafted beautiful stained glass artwork and created unique Christmas ornaments every year. Rae was an active member of the community and was known and loved by many. She was a welcoming presence at the Northumberland Library, where she was the Assistant Librarian for the past 14 years. She also loved animals and supported and volunteered at local animal rescue groups. Her kind heart, warm smile, and generous spirit will be missed.

Rae is survived by her adoring husband of 40 years, Daniel Davenport of Stratford; her five sons - Dak Overbagh (and wife Meaghan) of Campton; Hans Overbagh of Stratford; Daniel Davenport II (and wife Celena) of Whitefield; Jason Davenport (and partner Jessie) of Littleton; and Adam Davenport (and wife Shannon) of Conway; seven grandchildren; her mother Lillian Hampson of Littleton; two brothers, Alan Hampson and Charles Hampson both of Littleton, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members and dear friends.

Our lives have lost Rae's light, but we will carry her memory in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rae's name to the Riverside Animal Rescue; 236 Riverside Ave.; Lunenburg, VT 05906.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Fuller Town Hall in Stratford to honor Rae's memory.
