RICHARD "DICK" "DICKIE" DEAN PARADIS, of Groveton died peacefully at his home on March 3, 2020, just one day before his 63 rd birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dickie was born in Lancaster, NH on March 4, 1957, the son of William "Bill" Leopaul and Elizabeth "Betty" Jean (Hartford) Paradis.
He was a graduate of Groveton High School, class of 1976. He owned and operated Dick Paradis Trucking from 2006 until his illness. He was a member of the Groveton Trailblazers; the Groveton Fire Department for 33 years; Precinct Commissioner for 12 years; Selectman for 4 years; Northumberland Cemetery Trustee for 8 years; Conservation Commissioner; past Road Agent for the Town of Northumberland and the Town of Stark; ATV Trail Master; and a heavy equipment operator. Dickie loved snowmachining; four-wheeling; riding his Harley; and going to camp, especially Camp Ricker and Molly Brook.
Dick is survived by his wife of 40 years Holly (Sullivan) Paradis of Groveton; two daughters Melissa Sansoucy and husband David of Lancaster; and Lindsay Paradis of Manchester; three grandchildren Jackson; Lola; and Ava; one sister Joanne "Jodi" Paradis of Groveton; two aunts; three nephews; cousins and numerous friends.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State St.; Groveton, NH. Funeral service will follow immediately after at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dick's name to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center; One Medical Center Dr.; Lebanon, NH 03766.
