RITA M. (GOULET) CRAWFORD, 87, formerly of Groveton, died Saturday February 11, 2012 at the Morrison in Whitefield where she was a resident. Rita was born on June 21, 1924 in Bloomfield, VT a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Morrison) Goulet and was a lifelong resident of Groveton. Rita was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton. She was a member of the U.S.O. When she was younger she worked in the radio communications at the Pentagon and for the Wyoming Valley Paper Company in Northumberland. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles and was very proud of her grandchildren. Rita is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bradley and Judith Crawford of Groveton; daughter and son-in-law Mona and Robert Young of Augusta, ME; grandson and wife Shayne and Andrea Crawford and their daughter Kaya Choate all of San Diego, CA; granddaughters Kara Crawford of Natick, MA and Kathleen Young of Colorado Springs, Col.; one brother George "Pete" Goulet; two sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Lewis and Theresa Fogg all of Groveton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Otis E. Crawford; seven siblings Amie "Tim" Goulet; Charles Goulet; Leo Goulet; Maurice Goulet; Yvonne Daley; Mary Platt and Regina Goulet. At Rita's request there will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 14, 2012 at 11:00 am at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton with Fr. Daniel Deveau pastor officiating. Burial will be held on May 26, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Northumberland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
