GROVETON ROGER D. SIMINO, 74, of Groveton died peacefully Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Week's Medical Center in Lancaster after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family. Born in Barton, VT on July 28, 1931 a son of the late Frank and Gertrude (Friend) Simino he was a resident of Groveton for 51 years coming from Barton, VT. Roger was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Before Retiring he was a self-employed logger. He was a life member of the Newport, VT VFW, and past member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and was known as a tinkerer. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Yoshiko (Seguchi) Simino, his daughter Kathleen "Kathy" and husband Richard Hart of Groveton and Maidstone, VT; two granddaughters Kari and Lisa Hart of Groveton; ten (10) siblings Roland Simino of Grafton County Nursing Home, Haverhill, NH; Richard Simino of Glover, VT; Carol Blay of Piermont, NH; Joseph Simino of Claremont, NH; Shirley Valencourt of Texas; Jack Simino of Newport, NH; Wayne Simino of Claremont, NH; Frank Simino of Woodsville, NH; Gertrude "Peggy" Simino of Claremont, NH and Charlie Simino of Claremont, NH. He was predeceased by one brother Jerry Simino. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State Street; Groveton. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 28th at 1 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. Sherry O'bara pastor of the Groveton Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
