IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roma Philip
Leclaire
February 12, 1936 – August 17, 2023
Roma Philip LeClaire, 87, of Greenacres, Florida passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023, at Arbor Oaks at Greenacres. Born in Groveton, New Hampshire on February 12, 1936, Roma was the son of the late Delphis and Clara (Aube) LeClaire. A longtime resident of Groveton, he attended local schools and at one time was the owner/operator of Roma's Specialty Store. Later, Roma went into sales and traveled much of the country. When he settled in Ballston Lake, New York in 1980, Roma established a business in aerial photography and publishing of a local business services guide. In his later years, Roma moved to Gorham, New Hampshire, and continued his work there until retiring to Greenacres.
Roma proudly served in the U. S. Navy, aboard the USS Des Moines, 1954-1956. He was stationed in France for much of his service, until being honorably discharged after sustaining an injury.
Throughout his life Roma's favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, golfing, and later a love of karaoke singing; he was a great Storyteller and tough to beat in a game of Cribbage. While living on Ballston Lake anytime was a good time to water ski with family and friends, as was a good game of volleyball. With his outgoing personality and contagious smile, Roma loved a good party, and if dancing was involved all the better.
Roma is survived by his children, Daniel (Maria) LeClaire of Burnt Hills, New York, Jeffrey (Jodi) LeClaire of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Theresa Horan (Robert Thorpe) of Ballston Lake, New York; four grandchildren, Samantha LeClaire, Amanda Horan, Jake LeClaire, and Bradley Horan; sisters-in-law Lorraine (Paul) LeClaire and Elaina (Tiny) LeClaire, brother-in-law Roland (Rena) Godin, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roma is predeceased by his sisters, Yvonne Richard, Louisa McMann, and Rena Godin; and his brothers, Paul LeClaire, Raymond Leclere, Edward (Bud) Leclere, and Leo (Tiny) LeClaire.
