RUTH E. (INGERSON) GAUDETTE, 86, of Cumberland St, Groveton, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 6, 2020, after a lengthy illness.
Ruth was born on March 29, 1934, in Jefferson, NH a daughter of Sherwood Ingerson, Sr. and Lillian (Reed) Ingerson. Ruth has been a resident of Groveton since she married her husband Arthur in 1952.
Before retiring, she worked at the shoe factory, then Campbell Envelopes until they closed, followed by Aimes Department Store. Ruth was a huge supporter of the Groveton Thrift Shop and was instrumental in the opening of the thrift shop many years ago where she volunteered numerous hours including working every Wednesday until recently. Ruth made baby sweaters sets for the thrift shop; loved crocheting; knitting and plastic crafts. One of her most favorite things was watching the hummingbirds. She was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church.
Ruth is survived by her three sons Samuel Gaudette of Groveton; Tom "Yogi" Gaudette and wife Kathy of Groveton; and Bruce Gaudette and wife Teresa of Jonesborough, TN; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters Mary Gross of Jefferson and Caroline Ingerson of Berlin, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Arthur Gaudette on August 3, 2001; three siblings Burton Ingerson; Arlene Lakin; and Sherwood Ingerson, Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral service will be held at 9:00 am Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the Groveton United Methodist Church; 46 Church St.; Groveton, with Pastor Patricia Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery; 334 Lancaster Rd, Groveton.
