SALLY (TAYLOR) RYAN, 83, of West Street, Groveton, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Week's Memorial Hospital in Lancaster. Born December 4, 1925 in North Stratford, NH a daughter of Charlie and Florence (Wright) Taylor, she has been a resident of Groveton since 1957 when she married John "Jack" Ryan. She was raised in Brunswick, VT and graduated from Stratford Public School in 1944. She attended two years of college in North Hampton. Sally worked for several years at the Littleton Stamp and Coin as a secretary until 1957. Then she worked part time at the Groveton Elementary School in the cafeteria and for Jack at the garage keeping books until he sold the business in 1985. Sally is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, post # 17. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, bowling and playing cards. She was an avid sports fan especially of the Groveton Eagles and the Boston Red Sox. Sally is survived by her husband of 51 years John "Jack" Ryan of Groveton; her two daughters Teri Woodward and husband Rick and Jana Marshall and husband Richard all of Groveton; grandchildren Haley St. Cyr and husband Corey of Dalton, NH; Ashley Clauss and husband Jared of Groveton and Allison Woodward of Deerfield, NH; great grandchildren Ian St. Cyr and Taylor Clauss; Step-grandchildren Rebecca Marshall of Manhattan, NY; Nikki Cormier and husband Al of Lancaster and Samantha Canton and husband Chris of Groveton; step-great-grandchildren Kylie Cormier and Colin Canton and Parker Canton; and one sister-in-law Valerie Wallen and Husband Robert of Venice, FL. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. A graveside service will be held on July 18, 2009 at 11:00 am in the St. Francis Cemetery in Groveton.
