SAMUEL JOHNSON BOUDLE, SR., 71, of Bloomfield, VT, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, after a lengthy illness, with his loving family by his side.

Sam was born on September 4, 1954, in Bloomfield, VT, a son of the late William Samuel and Eda Louise (Johnson) Boudle, and was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield. Sam was a graduate of Stratford High School, class of 1973. He was a member of the 1971 State Championship cross-country team and was the 1972 State Championship runner.

Before retiring, Sam worked for 30 years for the State of Vermont Department of Transportation on the Highway crew. Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing during his spare time. He was a selectman for the Town of Bloomfield for many years.

Sam was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners.

Sam is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife Mary L.(Jordan) Boudle of Bloomfield, three children Heather Boudle and partner Tony Allen of Lancaster, NH, Samuel J. Boudle, Jr., and wife Nicole of Keene, NH, and Quinn Boudle and wife Alison of Sumas, WA, six grandchildren, Dylan Belanger, Jakob Belanger and wife Abby, Madelyn "Maddie" Boudle, Ciaran Boudle, Brynn Boudle, and Seamus Boudle, four siblings, Lawrence Boudle of Groveton, NH, Barbara Cloutier of Jonesville, NC, Janet French of Morrisville, NC, and Bryan Boudle of Groveton, NH, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by, in addition to his parents, one brother William S. Boudle, Jr.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 1:00 pm at 202 Summer Street, Lancaster, NH. Arrangements are entrusted to the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
