STUART CALVIN BURT, 88, of Cottage Street in Littleton, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He had been a resident at The Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield for the past few months. Stuart was born on September 3, 1924 in Stewartstown, NH a son of Carl and Geneva (Brown) Burt. He lived most of his life in the North Country; he lived out west for several years and in Chula Vista, CA for twelve years returning to this area in June of 2010. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his Country during WWII receiving a Bronze Star. He worked for 41 years as Maintenance Supervisor for Gilman Papers and Georgia Pacific. He was a past Vice President of Local 41 Pulp and Paper AFLCIO Union for several years. He was a Life member (67 years) of the American Legion; and a life member of the VFW in Chula Vista, CA. Stuart is survived by his three children Linda Jewell and husband Brad of Groveton; Peggy Keach and husband Bob of Falmouth, ME and Kevin Burt of Lunenburg, VT; one brother Elex Carter of Topeka, KS; seven grandchildren; Alyssa Lemaire, Adam Jewell, Christopher, Zachary and Hillary Keach and Matthew and Tyler Burt and their mother Brenda Tilton. He also is survived by two Step Great-Grandchildren Chloe and Ethan Lemaire and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Norma (Aldrich) Burt; his parents and seven siblings Rayfield Burt Sr.; Ralph Burt; Franklin Burt; Allen Burt; Norman Carter; Beverly Carter and Douglas Kimball. At Stuart's request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Colebrook Village Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
