TERRY LYNNE NILES, 50, of Spring Street, Groveton died unexpectedly Saturday, May 25, 2013 after a sudden illness. Terry was born on June 28, 1962 in Portland, ME a daughter of Edwin A. Shannon Sr. and Jane C. (MacMillan) Shannon, she has been a resident of Groveton most of her life. She was a graduate of Groveton High School, class of 1980 and continued her education at Notre Dame College to become a Social Worker. Over the years Terry worked as a bartender at the Groveton Moose Club and the Groveton American Legion. She worked as a 911 dispatcher for over 10 years; was a member of the Groveton Ambulance Corps for over 25 years; was an EMT-B; taught EMT classes and dedicated her life to helping others. Terry was a member of the Groveton Moose and the Groveton American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed participating in the ham and turkey raffles at the American Legion even if she didn't win. Terry enjoyed assisting with the fishing derby for the children each year. Her world revolved around her daughter Jade and even if you never met Jade, you knew her. When Terry wasn't talking about Jade she was making people laugh. She will always be remembered for her unusual sense of humor. Terry is survived by her daughter Jade Niles and her companion Jannen Tetreault of Groveton; mother Jane Shannon of Groveton; ten siblings and their spouses/companions, Edwin "Sam" Shannon, Jr. and Donna of Dalton, NH; Ralph "Skeet" Shannon and Sue of Missouri; Michael Shannon of Stewartstown, NH; Harold Shannon and Helen of Woodstock, NH; Lauren Spargo and Larry of Florida; Debra Parks and Neal of Stark; Will Mitchell and Lynn of Ohio; Lewis Niles of Whitefield, NH; Kimberly Niles-Sirois and Todd of Whitefield and Erin Bissonnette and Rejean of Groveton; her best friend and cousin Terry Shannon-Miles and Kevin of Hopkinton, NH; many nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her father Edwin Shannon Sr. on July 10, 1993. Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral service will be on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Seth Frink of the Assembly of God Church in Lancaster officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in the Emerson Road Cemetery.
