Obituary

THERESA C. "TED" (STOLARSKI) SULLIVAN, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Country Village-Genesis Eldercare Center in Lancaster, just thirteen days before her 83rd birthday, with her family by her side. Born October 14, 1925 in Canonsburg, PA a daughter of Bronislas "Barney" and Josephine (Wysocki) Stolarski, she moved to Groveton in 1957 coming from Boston, MA. Ted was a graduate of Canonsburg High School, class of 1944. She married John Sullivan in Pottsville, PA on November 1, 1947. While John served in the US Navy, Ted worked as a 1st Class Welder at the Navy Shipyard during WWII. She was also a radio operator for the Civil Air Patrol and acquired her nursing degree. Ted and John lived for several years in Boston before coming to Groveton were she was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church; the Daughters of Isabella and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post # 17. Ted was one of the founders of the Groveton Ambulance Corp and "ran" with the corp. until she retired from it in 1996. She worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Groveton until retiring from there in 1986. In her spare time she loved to garden, hunt and fish. Ted is survived by two daughters Holly Paradis and husband Richard "Dick" of Groveton and Linda Curtis of Lemmington, VT; one son Brian Sullivan and companion Sharon Benoit of Groveton; two granddaughters Melissa Paradis of Lancaster and Lindsey Paradis of Manchester; one grandson John Curtis of Lemmington, VT and one brother Pete Stolarski of Crescent, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband John Sullivan on September 27, 2002; an infant son John Michael Sullivan in 1966; three sisters and three brothers. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008 from 2-4 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:00 am at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton, with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating. Inurnment will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 10:00 am in the Northumberland Cemetery in Groveton.
