VIRGINIA C. (CRAIGIE) CURRIER, 95, a resident of Country Village nursing home in Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She was born June 22, 1917 in Lancaster, NH to John and Josephine (Hartford) Craigie. She was a graduated from Lancaster Academy, Lancaster, NH. She continued her business studies and graduated from Concord Commercial College; Concord, NH She worked 17 years for P.J. Noyes Company as a secretary and bookkeeper. She was active in the Christ United Methodist Church of Lancaster, NH. She was a 60 year member of the Grange. Virginia was married to Frank B. Currier for 50 years; they had owned a dairy farm for 20 years then worked for the Weeks family at the Cat Bow Farm for the next 10 years. They moved to Mount Dora, Florida permanently in 1990 and lived there for 14 years, where Virginia became an Associate Member of the Central Christian Church with Deaconess Emeritus status. Virginia is predeceased by her husband Frank B. Currier, who died in 2004, a brother, Charles Craigie and a sister Clarice (Craigie) James. She is survived by a niece, cousins and several grand nieces and grand nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held at The Northumberland Cemetery, in Northumberland, NH, on December 1, at 11:00 am. Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton is assisting the family with the arrangements. A luncheon gathering for friends and family will be held at the Groveton United Methodist Church in Groveton, NH, following the burial.
