WAYNE DOUGLAS "HAMMER" HAND, 64, of VT-RT 102, Bloomfield, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

"Hammer", as he was lovingly known by his family and friends, was born on September 4, 1957, in Lancaster, NH a son of Frederick Charles and Doris Vivian (Maguire) Hand.

He attended Stark Elementary School and Groveton schools. He started driving truck soon after high school, which he did most of his life. Later in life he began working in the woods running logging equipment and did so until a decline in health forced an early retirement.

Wayne loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to country music, watching his favorite TV shows, playing card games, watching NASCAR, and helping others.

"Hammer" was always willing to help anyone. He loved his grandchildren; and is deeply loved and will be deeply missed by many.

"Hammer" is survived by his son Douglas Hand and wife Rebekah and their two sons Jaxxon and Brodie all of Dalton, MA; his beloved companion of 32 years, Patricia Riley of Bloomfield, VT; six brothers Gerard Hand of Groveton; Larry Hand and wife Nancy of Evan Mills, NY; David Hand of Morgan, VT; Donald Hand and wife Norma of Groveton; Jon Hand and wife Sandra of Stewartstown,

and Dean Hand and wife Rose of Colebrook; seven sisters Margaret Willard and husband Steve of Springfield, VT; Eleanor Riley and husband Jody of Beecher Falls, VT; Doris Kennett and husband John of North Stratford; Carrie Wiswell and husband Erwin of Bristol, NH; Connie Hand of Colebrook; Lori Howard and husband Moon of Colebrook; and Terri Hand and companion Mike Belouin of Colebrook; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and three siblings Raymond Hand; Mary Ann Hand; and Richard Hand.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 30, 2021, in the Emerson Road Cemetery in Stark, NH, with Terri A. Charron, Esq.; of Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton, officiating.
