Obituary

WINSTON F. HUNT, 86, formerly of Groveton, died peacefully Saturday, November 18, 2006 with his family by his side, at Country Village Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster were he had been a resident since Feb. 2002. Born July 20, 1920 in West Stewartstown, NH a son of the late Norman, Sr. and Dencie (Ladd) Hunt. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was a resident of Groveton from 1948-2002. Before retiring he was a papermaker and a self employed finish carpenter. Winston was a member of the St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Groveton and the American Legion Fredonwarell Post #17, Groveton. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Winston is survived by his two sons and their spouses Robert Hunt and wife Connie and Arthur Hunt and wife Lynda all of Groveton; three grandchildren; one sister Beverly Uran of Colebrook along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Mansfield) Hunt in 1990; two sisters Dorothy Baker and Hulda Hapgood; four brothers Sheldon Hunt; Earl Hunt; Norman Hunt, Jr.; and Willard Hunt. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2002 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home, Groveton. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2002 at 1:00 pm at the St. Mark's Episcopal Church; corners of Church and Summer Streets; Groveton, with Rev. Jack Gregory, officiating. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery with military honors.
