WOODBURY J. "WOODY" CURTIS, JR. 76, of Tetu Road in Groveton, died suddenly at his residence on December 19, 2012. He was born on September 19, 1936 in Lancaster, NH a son of the late Woodbury J. Curtis Sr. and Alexandria Curtis. "Woody" was a graduate of Lancaster Academy. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during peace time. He moved to Groveton in 1994 from Lancaster. He worked for Norton Pike for many years and part-time at the Champion Gas Station in Groveton and the Lufkin's Gas Station in Whitefield. He enjoyed collecting guns, toys cars and trucks, watching TV especially NASCAR and football. "Woody" is survived by his wife of 33 years Carolyn Curtis of Groveton; one sister Gloria Hartford and husband Bill of Rochester, NH; seven step-children Glenn Lurvey and wife Pamela of Jefferson; James Lurvey of Mississippi; Wayne Lurvey of Jefferson; Beverley Ambroski of Illinois; Carol Seymore of Mississippi; Richard Lurvey of Dover, NH; and Brian Lurvey and wife Paula of Pennsylvania; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one step-son Bruce Masgula. There will be no calling hours or services at this time. A graveside service will be in the spring in the Summer Street Cemetery in Lancaster. Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
