YOSHIKO SIMINO, 85 , of Ice Pond Village, Lancaster, died peacefully at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster on Sunday, January 24, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
Yoshiko was born on December 1, 1930 in Tokyo, Japan a daughter of Miyaechi Seguchi and Haru (Magima) Seguchi. She was a resident of Groveton since coming to the United States in 1954 until moving to Lancaster three years ago.
She had a degree in business and worked as a bank teller for many years.
Yoshiko was a member of the Japanese Religion Church in Boston, MA. She loved to cook, clean, knit, crochet, her flowers and gardening.
Yoshiko is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Richard Hart of Groveton; two granddaughters Kari Laundry and husband Marshall of Groveton and Lisa Hart of Groveton; five great-grandchildren Kathleen Laundry; Kailene Laundry; Evan Laundry; Mackenzie Laundry and Brandon Laundry; one sister and one brother both of Japan.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Roger Simino on September 24, 2005.
At Yoshiko's request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Northumberland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
Memorial donations in Yoshiko's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
