EDWARD MELVIN TILTON, 77, of Groveton, died peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Country-Village Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster, due to complications of COVID-19.

On February 13, 1945, Edward was born in Groveton, NH a son of the late Edward Channie and Florence Gladys (Faulkenham) Tilton. Edward was a lifelong resident of Groveton. He attended the Austin School for the Deaf in Brattleboro, VT, and received his high school diploma.

He was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Edward is survived by one brother Arnold Tilton and Ginger Santillanes of Groveton; one sister-in-law Amelia "Nicky" Tilton of Groveton; one niece Shelly Philbrick and husband Keith; three nephews Brian Tilton and wife Nora; Steven Tilton and wife Brenda; and Michael Emery and wife Cheryl; and great-nephews.

Edward was predeceased by his father Edward C. Tilton on December 22, 1945; mother Florence G. Tilton on December 24, 2005; one sister Pearl Tilton-Emery on September 27, 1998; and one brother Channie Tilton on January 31, 2021.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Northumberland Cemetery, with Pastor Eungil Cho of the Groveton United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
